Petco Marketing Case Study

Everyone has heard of or seen a Petco. It’s always fun to go inside and look at the animals or beg your parent for a cute pet. They’ve been in operation since 1965 selling small animals like mice, rats, gerbils, hamsters, chinchillas and ferrets, reptiles like ball pythons, leopard geckos, chameleons, monitors, and many kinds of fish as well. They have a huge selection of pet supplies both online and in-stores. They also have pet grooming, dog training, and small veterinary services at some locations. Petco is one of the leading pet supplies retailers, second in the country only to its counterpart Petsmart.  This company strives to provide full animal services in one location. Their value proposition is “Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World.”.  https://www.ispot.tv/ad/A39R/petco-getting-to-know-you-song-by-baraka-may Last year they released a new marketing campaign focusing on the tagline “All About Pets” they released a few commercials and planed mor

I selected the company Lyft for this assignment. This company is well know but is always associated with Uber because it came first but Lyft is an overall better company. Their value proposition is "turning miles into minute" this perfectly appeals to both those who want to use Lyft, and those who want to be Lyft providers. This is a ride share or "ride hailing" app that lets the common driver make some extra money and provide transportation for those who need it, for a fairly reasonable price. Fortune Magazine wrote an article about Lyft and Uber and compared the to companies to the tortoise and the hare. They stay relevant by providing fun and unexpected forms of advertising. People magazine wrote an article about how the singer Demi L

About me...

I am in this class because it is a requirement for my Oregon State University degree but I specifically chose this course but I like taking classes here at Linn Benton Community College. I am a business major specifically studying Business Management. I am most interested in learning about marketing for small local businesses because I want to own my own small business some day. I am passionate about animals but specifically I love reptiles! I like snakes, lizards, frogs, fish and all kind of other small animals and I have a few of my own. I have total of 87 pets... but 72 of them are very tiny Helix Aspersa which is the fancy name for a garden snail. I know it's weird but I love snails and have 3 large adults that recently laid eggs. I raised up the babies and they are getting bigger every day! I also have a Ball Python, a Leopard Gecko, a House Gecko, a Butterfly Telescope Goldfish, Beta fish and the 3 Helix Aspersa and 7 other snails called  Capaea Vindobonensis.
